Narrabeen Sports High

The Narrabeen Sports High project is a joint project between Pittwater Council and the NSW Education Department, with additional funding from the Australian Football League (AFL).

The project is one of the first synthetic installations in the public arena in NSW and is supported by the local soccer association, the Sydney Swans (who are looking to base their football academy there) and the school.

The $1.2 million project involves a synthetic sportsfield for AFL football (AFL community standard football oval), soccer (FIFA 1 star soccer pitch); facility lighting; goals; netting and a stormwater harvesting system to collect rainfall from the field to irrigate additional fields.

In 2013, Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA) gave Pittwater Council and Narrabeen Sports High the top award in the NSW/ACT Open Space Development category for the synthetic turf field.
