DCE were engaged by Racing Queensland Limited to undertake Stormwater Management for the Toowoomba Turf Club. Works included the establishment of a Water Efficiency Management Plan (WEMP).

Following the WEMP works, DCE was engaged to undertake the Civil Engineering for the masterplanning and implementation of the racecourse development at Toowoomba Turf Club. These works involved relocating the existing synthetic track to the inside training track and returning the course proper back to turf with a reinforced sand profile.

In 2015, DCE's paper on the project was awarded Best paper at the Stormwater Queensland Conference.

The paper 'Toowoomba Racecourse: Water Efficiency in the Racing Industry' was presented by Shane Dalton as part of the conference proceedings. Co-authored by Shane Dalton, Ross Mason and Fraser Goff, the paper is a case study on the Toowoomba Racecourse Project from a water efficiency perspective. It highlights advances in water efficiency and improvements to stormwater harvesting and reuse achieved through the racecourse's renovation.
