Beyond Environmental Performance
Sustainability at DCE goes beyond environmental performance – it’s about how we lead, how we support our people and how we drive long-term value for communities.
We are committed to improving our performance across Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) areas and embedding responsible, future-focused practices in everything we do.
In 2025, we formalised this commitment through our first ESG Introductory Report, which maps out our journey and sets the foundation for annual improvement and transparent reporting.
Why ESG Matters

The ESG framework gives us the structure to assess, monitor, and improve the way we operate – so that sustainability isn’t a side consideration, but a core part of our business.

We have aligned our ESG priorities to DCE’s values, stakeholder expectations and the areas where we can make the most meaningful impact.
Environment
We prioritise sustainability in our design work and operations - particularly through integrated water management, stormwater planning, and infrastructure resilience. We also seek to reduce our own environmental footprint.
Social
We invest in the wellbeing, safety, and development of our people. We actively support diversity, equity, and inclusion, and partner with organisations that strengthen community outcomes.
Governance
We operate with professionalism, integrity, and transparency. Our governance approach ensures responsible leadership, ethical business conduct and continuous improvement.
