Gembrook & Cockatoo Pressure Sewers

The backlog pressure sewer projects at Gembrook and Cockatoo for Yarra Valley Water lead to using Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) to construct the sewer reticulation for the township.

Following public consultation and education of the techniques implemented, the low pressure sewer reticulation was selected to be constructed. HDD construction techniques using PE pipe resulted in the townships first sewer reticulation being constructed.

Project outcomes included:

Minimising cost to Yarra Valley Water
Minimal disturbance to the residents
Protection of the delicate native flora throughout the whole construction process
