The medium density housing development consists of 49 townhouses planned down a gently sloping site on Warrigal Road in Burwood, Victoria and includes a range of 2 and 3 bedroom attached townhouses.
The location of this project was an infill site located at the top of the existing catchment with significant fall from Warrigal Road. As a result of this, the project required independent drainage systems for both the northern and southern catchment.
In order to protect existing Gum trees, ‘Tree Protection Zones’ were established and the existing surfaces within these zones could not be disturbed. All roads and associated infrastructure was designed to avoid any excavation within the Tree Protection Zones. In areas where this was difficult to achieve, DCE introduced retaining walls which further enhanced the aesthetics of the development.
DCE’s involvement in the project included the design, tendering and contract administration of all civil infrastructure.
