DCE was engaged by Western Water as the design consultant and superintendent of works to deliver major potable water infrastructure for the existing and future community of Melton South and the Toolern PSP.
The project involved 630m of 600 MSCL and 35m of 450 MSCL distribution water main constructed within existing road reserve, including cross-connection to existing development reticulation. The presence of many existing services within the road reserve posed a significant project challenge, and resulted in active review of the alignment during construction. Coupled with the presence of rock in deep excavation, the project created ongoing construction issues which required close coordination with the contractor.
This project was successfully delivered by DCE ahead of schedule.
