Project outline

Nexus Industrial Estate in Dandenong South is a key component of Salta Properties’ network of Intermodal Terminals and Distribution Centres, strategically located on 180 hectares of industrial-zoned land adjacent to the Western Port Highway and the rail corridor connecting the future Port of Hastings with the Port of Melbourne.

Upon completion, the estate will feature over 600,000 sq.m of warehousing, a 10,000 TEU heavy-duty container hardstand storage area, and four 600m rail sidings.

DCE developed a cost-effective stormwater drainage solution to address significant site constraints, including cultural heritage areas, grade limitations, downstream flood levels, and a major gas and oil easement. This involved complex hydraulic modelling, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with Melbourne Water, APA, Viva, Elgas, VicTrack, and Council. Early contractor and authority involvement resulted in extensive drainage scheme savings.

DCE provided services from initial investigation through to design and construction, including hydraulic modelling, civil design, project management, and construction supervision.
