DCE was engaged to deliver full civil engineering design and infrastructure works for Microsoft’s Truganina Data Centre, including major road upgrades, drainage, sewer, and waterway infrastructure to support this nationally significant facility.
Located on Woods Road in Truganina, the Microsoft Data Centre is a critical addition to Melbourne’s growing cloud infrastructure network. Positioned within one of the city’s most strategic logistics and technology precincts, the site supports Microsoft’s broader plans to deliver high-capacity, secure, and sustainable data services across Victoria.
DCE has been engaged to deliver a full suite of civil engineering services for the project, supporting both on-site infrastructure and surrounding public realm works.
DCE’s scope of works includes the upgrade of Boundary Road and the unsignalised intersection of Boundary and Woods Road, as well as the formalisation of Woods Road to kerb and channel level. Connectivity to the broader precinct is supported through the delivery of Ecology Drive, linking the site to the adjacent 865 Boundary Road project via a developer funded culvert structure.
Essential infrastructure works include the delivery of key services such as 225mm diameter water mains, large-scale drain infrastructure, and coordination of electrical and telecommunications assets. A 450mm diameter GWW branch sewer has also been delivered to service the site, along with a Melbourne Water scheme waterway to provide critical flood protection.
DCE’s role has involved proactive stakeholder engagement, authority coordination, and efficient delivery to meet the highly specified program and technical requirements of this nationally significant data centre facility.
