DCE was engaged by Pomeroy Pacific to provide detailed design and construction supervision on the sewer relocation works at Dandenong Road, Oakleigh.
The redevelopment required decommissioning of the existing Melbourne Water drain running diagonal across the site and construction of new 3.6 x 1.8m culverts around the site.
The Hawthorn Main Drain is a major waterway corridor for Melbourne Water which caters for large volumes of water and can rise from zero flows to over half a metre in a matter of minutes after rainfall.
The amount of existing services within Oxley Road and limited space and workability provided challenges throughout the duration of this project, along with depths of construction up to 4.5m deep.
This project was successfully delivered by DCE ahead of schedule and under budget.
